Rules of Lodní liga 2018

Entry fee

The entry fee is 8 000 Kč (315 €) per team. The team can be registered by 30.6.2018! The entry fee is paid by transfer to the bank account within 10 working days of filing the application. You can find instructions on how to pay entry fee on the teams page after registering your team.

The team consists of a maximum of 4 competitors - 2 main competitors and a maximum of 2 substitutes. Each competitor may be a member of only one team in Lodní liga.

Only 2 competitors who are listed on the team's list are allowed to attend competition. The boat can not take part in the competition unless there are 2 competitors from the team. There must be no other than 2 competitors on the boat except for a cameraman or photographer provided by the organizer, who may not assist the competitor in any way.

Names of competitors are reported when drawing numbers for each round. The team list is created during registration, but can be edited online. The last possible changes to the list are 7 days before the first competition of the year, other changes in the current year are not possible!

Every competitor is required to know all the rules before the competition and to follow them, the ignorance of the rules does not apologize!

During the morning draw of the numbers, four jury members are also selected for the round. Member of the jury for the round becomes a competitor of the first four teams that will draw the numbers: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50. In the event that the jury does not have 4 members, it will be supplemented by volunteers from a number of competitors so that it has 4 members. The jury may have a maximum of one competitor per team.

Main referee, assistant referees

The organizers will ensure the main referee for each round of competition. The main referee starts and finishes the round, checks and records the return times of each team.

The main referee may perform a pre-competition inspection of the boat - at least one jury member must attend this check. If a team rejects a check, it is automatically disqualified in the round.

The main referee may carry out inspection of the boat himself or with other referees during the race. If a team is suspected of cheating, it is authorized to carry out a boat's inspection, including all boat's storage and hulls. If a team rejects a check, it is automatically disqualified in the round.

Boats and motors

The size of the boats is not limited. The performance of the engines is not limited. Maximum cruising speed is not limited. :) However, all ships must first familiarize themselves with the rules of shipping on the water where the competition will be held and follow these rules. If there are any restrictions on the water where the competition will take place, they will be part of the propositions. In Czech Republic is rule, that if you have a stronger engine than 5 HP, you need to have your boat registered and have visible registration numbers on boat + you also need appropriate license to drive that boat.

Fishing licenses and permits

Every competitor must have a valid fishing permit and valid fishing license for ČRS waters on which the competition will take place. We will help foreign teams to secure all licences, if you are interested, contact František Čáha. Fishing licenses must be secured at least one month before the first round, otherwise we do not guarantee that we will be able to arrange them in time!

Training on the competition area

The competition is forbidden for training on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before the competition. Friday is official training day of competition, which is open to all participants of the competition.

Allowed fishing methods

Only one rod that a competitor holds in his hand may be used when fishing. The number of rods prepared is not limited. The movement of the bait in water is done by winding the line into the reel, moving the rod, using the water movement or a combination of these methods.

Trolling is prohibited.

It is strictly forbidden to use lip grippers.

Fish must be hooked with at least one hook in the head portion bounded by gill arch and the pectoral fins, otherwise it is not counted. It is forbidden to intentionally cut fish!

It is prohibited to use natural baits.

Baiting is prohibited.

Allowed lures

Only artificial spinning lures are allowed. Only one lure with hooks is allowed when fishing. Allowed lures must be fitted with original single, double or treble hooks. The individual lures may be fitted with a maximum of two pieces of single-hooks, double-hooks, treble-hooks, or combinations. This does not apply to wobblers where the number of hooks is given by the manufacturer. If the lures are combined into tandem, only one of lures can be fitted with hooks. If different irritants are used before the bait, these irritants must not be fitted with hooks. Various flavor stimulants can be applied to baits or irritants.

Handling fish

We recommend using barbless hooks, but hooks with the barb are not prohibited. The fish are landed by a wet landing net or a wet hand. It is forbidden to use lip grippers! The fish need to act with the utmost caution, placing them only on a moistened meter. The fish must be returned to the place where it was caught as soon as measured and photographed. Dead fish or fish visibly damaged so much that they die are excluded from scoring.

Rules of boat behavior

A passing ship must not threaten other ships by its waves. If it passes within 50 meters of a rubber boat or a boat with low bordes, it has to sail only in the displacement mode (speed up to 10 km / h). Anchored ship is passed by free space at a distance of more than 50 meters. If the water is impassable due to anchored ships, the ship can pass between them, reducing the speed of passage and the maximum consideration to fishing competitors.

Fishing section of the boat

A circle of fifty meters around the anchored ship - no other team can enter this section. A circle of 25 meters around an anchored ship - other teams are not allowed to cast into this section. The competitor may not interfere with the opponent's fishing area or limit the possibilities of their casting (the crossing of lines), if they has been docked earlier. It is permitted to cast no matter how far into space unoccupied by any of the ships. When a ship drives, it must respect the fishing section of other anchored ships.

Measured fish species and scoring

Only one longest fish is counted from each measured fish species.

The minimum length of a fish is 20 cm.

Rounding when measuring fish

The length of the fish is the highest reached centimeter on competition meter. If the fish reaches exactly the number, the number is counted.

Examples - Pike:

91,3 cm = 91 cm
92,8 cm = 92 cm
94,0 cm = 94 cm

Calculation of points

The length of the fish shall be rounded according to the rules "Rounding when measuring fish". The resulting number is the final number of points or it is multiplied according to table “Measured fish species".

Measured fish species

Fish species Points
Pike length of fish in cm
Zander length of fish in cm
Asp length of fish in cm
Perch length of fish in cm * 1,5
Catfish (Silurus glanis) length of fish in cm * 0,5
Chub or Ide (all species are as one species) length of fish in cm * 0,5

Example - Pike:

62,3 cm = 62 points

Example - Perch:

30 cm = 30 * 1,5 = 45 points

Example - Catfish:

161,7 cm = 161 * 0,5 = 80,5 points

Entering data and counting points

You do not have to worry about counting, you will always only enter the full rounded length of the fish into the app and choose what kind of fish it is. Everything is automatically counted on the web server. :)

Catch recognition and fraud protection

In order to avoid cheating in the competition, fish will only be recognized in this way:

In the morning, each team draws a number. Once the number has been drawn, the team will receive the corresponding identification labels with numbers. Identity labels will be unique to each race and will never be used again. One label will be attached to the meter so that it can be seen in the photo when measuring the fish. Second label will be worn by competitor and it will be seen in the photograph with the catch.

After catching a fish that will be the first or larger than the original, the competitor will measure it. You need to take a picture of the fish, the photograph will serve as evidence of the fish being caught. Fish head is placed exactly on the border of 0 on meter.

There will be 2 photos for each fish:

If the length of the fish can not be read out of the photographs, or one of the photos will not include a unique label for the given competition - the fish will not be recognized!

In the case of fish caught exceeding the length of an official meter, it is allowed to attach a own meter at the end of the oficial meter and then take pictures or video with proof of the length of the fish. However, all other photo requirements must be met. If this large fish can not be measured in a boat, competitors are allowed to measure it on the shore.

Photos must have a resolution of at least 2000px on their longer side and be in JPEG (JPG) or PNG format. Catch photos must be uploaded online using the web application immediately after catching the fish. If neither competitor owns a device with Internet access, the photos must be handed over to the main referee on the SD card or MicroSD card after the event. Only the photos of the largest fish from each species (one on the meter and the other with the competitor) must be on the card, and there must be no other pictures - otherwise the team card will be returned to delete other photos. Photos must be uploaded or handed over in the correct manner to the organizer no later than 30 minutes after the end of the competition round, otherwise the team is disqualified!

Checking of photos

After end of competition round, photos are checked. The photos are always checked by the main referee of the competition + at least one of the 4 members of the jury (draws in the morning before the round starts). If there are disputes about a catch, the main referee of the race and all four members of the jury decide. If they do not agree 100%, the matter is voted. The decision requires at least 3 votes (out of 5 possible).

Scoring individual rounds

In each round, points for the captured fish will be counted together - for example: pike 90 cm (90 points) + zander 70 cm (70 points) + perch 30 cm (45 points) + bonus species catfish 85 cm (42.5 points) and chub 40 cm (20 points). Total 267.5 points. The team with the highest number of points wins. In case of same number of points between multiple teams, a team with all or most of the main fish caught wins (pike, zander, aps, perch). In the event of equality, the largest fish (the highest number of points for fish) is judged; in the case of equal biggest fish, the second largest fish or the third largest fish are judged. If it does not decide, the largest pike, zander, asp, perch is judged (in this order).

The team in each competition round gets a placement - if you finish first, you have placement 1, if you finish as 10th, you have placement 10. If the team does not catch any measured fish in the round, it will be placed behind the last team that caught something + ½ of the teams that did not catch anything. E.g. there are 30 ships, 10 teams did not catch fish, so teams that do not catch anything get the 25th placement. If the placement is a decimal number, it rounds up. If a team / teams does not participate in the round or they were disqualified, they will automatically receive placement equal to the number of teams in the round (for example, 39 if 39 teams attended this competition round).

If there are more teams that have the same number of points in the round and can not be sorted according to these rules, all teams receive the same position that is equal to their average - eg 10 - 14 - all teams get a 12th placement. If the average is a decimal number, it is rounded up. Placement of teams below continues below as normal, so next placement in this example will be 15.

Scoring the entire competition

All placements from individual rounds are summed up for final results of competition. Team with the lowest sum of the placements from all rounds wins. For example, if you have placements 1, 10, 5, and 30, you have a total placement 46.

If teams have the same total sum of placement from all rounds, the team with the highest sum of points from all rounds wins (the sum of points for fish from all rounds together). In the event of a tie, the team with the largest fish of all rounds (the highest number of points per 1 fish) wins, in the event of equality the 2nd largest fish (number of points) or the 3rd largest fish (number of points). In the case that 3 largest fish are equal, the largest pike, zander, asp, perch decides (from all rounds, in this order).

Submitting a protest against the results of the competition

Each team that participated in the competition is entitled to file protest against the results of this round. The protest must be filed within 30 minutes of the publication of the results on the Lodní liga website (the results are published immediately after the announcement). After this limit, the protest can no longer be given and the results of the round are fixed.

The protest is subject to a 1000 Kč (40 €) deposit. If the protest is not acknowledged, the deposit is forfeited by the organizer.

The main referee + all four jury members decides on the protest. If they do not agree 100%, the matter is voted. There are a minimum of 3 votes (out of 5 possible) for the recognition of the protest.

Early termination of competition round

In the event of weather or other hazards, the organizer reserves the right to terminate the competition round. The results include fish caught up to this time. Determining the time taken to capture a photo taken from photo metadata or the time of uploading a photo to a web application. The end of the round will be announced by the main referee to each team by SMS or telephone call.

Boat failure

For example, if your boat engine broke and you can not get to the starting point and do not want to lose points - it is necessary to contact the main referee at least 60 minutes before the end of the round. Report all fish that you have caught to this point and after that you will discuss rescue plan or other solution to your problem. After contacting the main referee, only the fish that you reported are counted, it is forbidden to continue with fishing. Points for late return will not be removed and you will not be disqualified for return more than 30 minutes after the round is over. Abuse of this option is punishable by disqualifying the team.

Return to the starting point after time limit (end of round)

1 - 14 minutes = for each minute - 2 points from your sum of points (5 minutes = -10 points)

15 - 29 minutes = for each minute - 3 points from your sum of points (20 minutes = -60 points)

30 minutes and more = disqualification in the round

Disqualification of the team in the competition round

The team may be disqualified for the following reasons:

  1. For catching in a restricted zone, use of forbidden baits, use of forbidden fishing method, non-compliance with boating regulations, serious threat to another ship - if proven by photo / video or seen by an referee / boat police / police.
  2. If the team is not present at the start place of the round at the start time of the round.
  3. If the team returns to the start place of the round more than 30 minutes after the round is over.
  4. If the team does not upload or pass the catch photos correctly within 30 minutes of the round end.
  5. For another reason - the team's disqualification for any reason other than mentioned above will be decided by the main referee + all four jury members. If they do not agree 100%, the matter is voted. To disqualify a team, a minimum of 3 votes is required (out of 5 possible).

In the event of a disqualification, the team automatically gets the position behind the last team (for example, if 38 teams will compete in this round, disqualified team will get position 39).

Exclusion of the team from the competition

In the case of manipulation with photographs, the acquisition of fish otherwise than permitted, the transfer of fish between boats, using organic baits and other serious violations of fair play rules, the team is excluded from the competition. Exlusion of team is decided by main referee + all 4 members of the jury. If they do not agree 100%, the matter is voted. To exclude a team from a competition, a minimum of 3 votes (out of 5 possible) is required.

If the team is excluded from the competition, they must return all the prizes they have won in this year of Lodní liga. At the same time, there is a ban on attending in the Lodní liga for all team members for 5 years (including substitutes).

Withdrawal of the team from the competition

The team may withdraw from the competition no later than 30.6.2018. After this date, the team may also withdraw but entry fee will not be refunded.

Changes to the rules

We reserve the right to modify the rules, the latest edits can be made no later than 30.6.2018.
